Blog posts I’ve lost to the ethers of time

The web is an ephemeral medium, if you’re not careful. Throughout my career, I’ve written blog posts for the company I’ve worked for. Over time, those websites or their content have been removed, and before their removal I copied the posts to my personal blog to keep a record of what I’d written.

But alas, I missed two blog posts I wrote in 2014 working at Adxstudio and can’t find a copy of them. They were, admittedly, not very high quality content, and from what I can tell they were removed from the site within a few months by someone who must have thought they weren’t good enough to stay published!

The only partial record I’ve found of them is an archive.org capture of the blog post summaries listing from my profile page, https://web.archive.org/web/20150305163806/http://community.adxstudio.com:80/profile/public/fd5f8442-b58f-e111-b596-00155d423252/blog-posts.

For now, until a more complete archive is found (if ever), here’s the last known record of these two blog posts copied here for posterity, until the ethers of time remove this page from existence.

I received an email from the Azure Team at Microsoft today that they’d released a new “Microsoft Azure Preview Portal”. The address is https://portal.azure.com/. I immediately had to go see it for myself, and here are some screenshots of the experience.

Determining your IP address

If you ever need to know what IP address you connect to the internet with, there are a few websites that will quickly and easily help you find out. Simply by viewing them, they will tell you what IP address you are connecting to them with.
